Papaya juice is one of those juices that can be easily made at home but has wonderful benefits. Especially it’s well known for it’s use in treating fevers caused due to mosquitoes like dengue. Since dengue is spreading at a rapid pace here in Tamil Nadu, it will be very helpful if we get to know the different home remedies and treatments for doing at home.

There are two popular methods for treating dengue that have been proven through clinical research to be very effective for treating & preventing dengue. One is using nilavembu kudineer which is a blend of 9 different herbs with nilavembu (Andrographis Paniculata) as the main ingredient and the other is papaya leaf juice.

Papaya Leaf Juice & Dengue Fever:

The study that proved the effectiveness of papaya leaf juice for dengue was done on a 45 year old patient suffering from dengue. For the study 25 ml of the water extract of papaya was given to the patient twice a day for 5 consecutive days.

The platelet count and white blood cells count were taken and they had decreased significantly due to dengue. After the treatment the platelets increased from 55 to 168 and the white blood cells increased from 3.7 to 7. 7 which clearly proved the effectiveness of papaya juice for treating dengue.

The main thing to do when a person gets dengue is to hydrate themselves well and take either nilavembu kudineer or papaya juice. Also close monitoring of the platelet count is very important.
