Applying ice cubes on pimples is an effective and simple treatment for treating pimples and pimple scars. When we apply ice on our face, especially ice cubes that have herbs added to it, it does a lot more than numbing the pain. It helps both treat and prevent acne and the best part is you can make them easily at home.
I have given ten ice cube treatments made with fresh fruit and herb extracts that are very effective in treating and preventing acne and acne scars, choose the one you like and use regularly.
Does Ice Help Pimples?
Yes, applying ice cubes on the pimples does help. When we apply ice cubes on the pimples, it helps reduce the size of the pimple along with numbing the pain greatly. If you have a worst break out of pimples and is highly inflamed, applying ice cubes will help reduce the inflammation greatly. It will also help reduce the redness caused due to the inflammation too.
Can Ice Cube Remove Pimples?
Ice cubes made with just plain water by itself only reduces the size of the pimples and helps soothe the inflammation but it does not help treat the infection nor it prevents pimples.
But when we add ingredients like turmeric, green tea or aloe vera gel while making the ice cubes, it can help both cure and prevent further breakouts. So I would suggest adding ingredients that helps treat acne while making ice cubes.
Can Ice Fade Pimple Scars?
Applying ice cubes that contains green tea, cucumber extracts, tomato, mint, turmeric and neem can fade acne scars. All these ingredients are great for adding to ice cubes and if applied regularly on the scars will help fade it very very fast.
Ice For Acne Redness:
Applying ice on the pimple will greatly help reduce the inflammation and the redness caused by it. For reducing redness and inflammation, try applying either cucumber ice cubes or aloe vera ice cubes wrapped in a thin muslin cloth. Both these ice cubes are very soothing on the skin and will help reduce both redness and inflammation immediately.
Icing Cystic Acne:
If you are suffering from cystic acne, the large painful bumps that causes so much of distress, I would suggest applying turmeric ice cubes on it wrapped in a cloth. It will immediately help reduce the pain and inflammation as it has both analgesic and anti inflammatory properties. You can apply the ice cubes twice a day to reduce the inflammation faster, just gently place the ice cube on the pimples and press for few seconds. Never rub ice cubes harshly over the face while you have cystic acne.
How To Apply Ice On Pimples:
To apply ice on pimples, take the ice cube and wrap in a thin cloth. I would suggest you always wrap the ice cube in a thin muslin cloth before applying especially if you are new to ice cube treatments because applying cold ice on the face can cause mild burns in some people. I always prefer to wrap ice cubes in a thin muslin cloth before applying it on my face.
Now take the ice cubes and gently pat on the pimples, don’t rub it too hard else it will erupt the pimple which will only increase the infection. When we apply herb based ice cubes, it will help soothe the inflamed skin greatly.
How Long To Ice Pimples?
I would suggest icing the pimple till the ice cube melts on the skin. This will take a minute or two depending on the ingredients used in the ice cubes. Usually the ice cubes made with herb or fruit extracts tend to melt faster as opposed to an ice cube made with plain water alone. Also if you feel uncomfortable at any point of time during the ice treatment which is rare, stop using it immediately.
