Garlic Milk Side Effects:

Drinking a cup of this garlic milk will not cause any problems but if you consume too much of garlic milk, it can cause stomach burn especially if the garlic is not cooked well, heart burn and in extreme cases nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. There will be garlic breath after drinking this but since the garlic is cooked well, it won’t be very strong.

How To Make Garlic Milk:

1. Pound the 3 small garlic pods well and add to a cup of milk or coconut milk. Boil it till the garlic is cooked well. If you are adding coconut milk, make sure to boil in low flame else it will split.

garlic milk recipe

2. I love the taste of palm candy in this milk, this is palm candy.

3. Once the garlic is cooked, add palm candy to taste, 1/4 tsp pepper powder and 1/8 tsp turmeric powder. Boil for few minutes till raw smell goes and switch off.

4. Let it cool a bit and mash it with a masher and strain. Your healthy garlic milk is ready!

NOTES:

  • Make sure to pound the garlic pods well for it to cook faster.
  • You can substitute palm candy with white sugar too but palm candy is very healthy and rich in iron.
  • For young children, reduce the quantity of pepper powder.
  • This milk is tasty and very comforting to drink especially if you have a cold or flu.
  • I used organic grass fed whole milk from the farm for making this drink, you can substitute with any type of milk you prefer
  • I don’t like it too sweet but you can decrease or increase the sweetness according to your taste.

Thanks Ramya, i tried it today, it tastes nice even though i did not add sugar or palm candy. But how often should it be taken for acne/pimples?

Consuming garlic milk reduces acne flare ups, but the time taken for the acne to diminish varies from person to person. I would suggest weekly three to four days to see good results.

If you mash the pieces well, you don't have to strain at all, I usually don't. If you pound the garlic well, it will take around 4 to 5 minutes to cook well…..

Hi Pragati, I would suggest you give him krishna tulsi cough syrup or karpooravalli syrup from the blog. When my son was a child, whenever he catches a cold or cough, I sterilize a white cloth by boiling it and then make the krishna tulsi syrup and strain it in the sterilized cloth and give it to him in empty stomach for 3 days, works really well. Also please start introducing homemade ragi porridge for him and give it to him with jaggery, will greatly improve his health….

Hi Ramya Venkateshwaran, I could see that this article has been published on Saturday, 14 June 2014. And thereafter 40/45 comments is appearing either in the form of seeking further advise or stating the commitment of commencing taking this ' GARLIC MILK " and their opinion or of getting well by this "UPCHAR" . ACCORDING TO ME, THOSE WHO HAVE ACTUALLY IMPLEMENTED THIS " UPCHAR " SHOULD COME FORWARD WITH A RESULT GAINED BY THEM. THIS WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL AND GUIDING TO OTHERS.
